The farm is home to a three-hundred-year-old mill, a private beach and has a certificate for organic farming. Guests can buy various produce from the host including eggs, lamb, duck, turkey and chicken and even experience a night sleeping in the hay barn. The ideal retreat for those looking for new experiences, guests can borrow a bicycle, diving equipment or even a paddle boat to explore the rapids, tributaries and waterfalls along the river. The hosts are also happy for visitors to join them in feeding the farm animals and there is also a nearby forest to explore which is full of wildlife. The compact, light-filled property enjoys large floor-to-ceiling glass doors that look out onto acres of green fields and is arranged within one large open-plan living space, furnished with; a double sofa bed, a smart digital flat-screen HD TV and a breakfast bar for two. The space also incorporates a small kitchen fitted with an induction hob, a coffee machine, an oven and a fridge freezer. The area is characterised by rolling hills, lush fields and forests, the Kolpa River is also a prominent feature of the landscape. The region offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities including hiking or cycling in the surrounding forests and nature reserves or swimming and canoeing in the Kolpa. Nearby, guests will find the Kočevje Forests, one of the largest continuous forests in Europe, a region known for its bear population and a great place for wildlife enthusiasts and hikers. Here visitors will find the Kraljica roga (a one-hour drive away) the largest fir tree in Slovenia Those in search of the ultimate relaxation will enjoy visiting one of the nearby thermal spa towns where they can enjoy wellness treatments. Šmarješke Toplice (a 50-minute drive) and Dolenjske Toplice (a 35-minute drive) are both known for their therapeutic, mineral-rich, geothermal waters. Other popular excursions include visits to the charming historic towns of Metlika (a 10-minute drive) and Črnomelj (a 13-minute drive), both known for their rich cultural heritage, architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. The closest international airport to the accommodation is Zagreb Airport (ZAG) approximately a one hour and 7-minute drive away.
